The Inari fell and lake tour7 day tour

This
tour leads you through the most spectacular places in the Inari county,
which is half the size of Switzerland. Enjoy the forest and the
splendour and vastness of Lake Inari. Our trail follows the old gold
river, the
Ivalojoki, where even today goldpanners try their luck. We continue by
passing
through one of the largest and remotest wilderness areas in Finnish
Lapland, the Hammastunturi wilderness. On
the fourth day of this tour we try to reach the top of the Otsamo fell,
which
on a clear day will give us a beautiful view of the surrounding area,
including
the Hammastunturi, Lake Inari, and the Juutuajoki. For the last part of
the
tour we follow the trail over the up to one meter thick ice of the
second
largest lake of Finland, Lake Inari, with it’s more than 3 thousand
islands. Finally
we make our way back to the kennel where after 5 days in the wilderness
our
tour will end.
| Day 1 | Arrival at Ivalo airport, transfer to your accommodation. |
| Day 2 | We will pick you up from your accommodation and bring you to our kennel. Here you will receive your winter clothing and we will instruct you in the basics how to drive a dog team of 4 to 6 huskies. And then we are ready to start our tour. |
| Day 3-5 | Depending on the weather conditions we drive around 40 km a day. On the tour we sleep in wilderness cabins, shelters or tent. |
| Day 6 | Today we will make our way back to the kennel. |
| Day 7 | Transfer to Ivalo airport. |

A 9 day expedition from Finnish Lapland to Bugoyfjord at
the Norwegian coast
It is an unique experience to drive your own team of dogs in 6 days (total duration of the tour is 9 days) from Finland to the Norwegian coast. We start from our kennel in Ivalo over frozen lakes and through Finnish forests, crossing the border and continue to the Norwegian coast and Arctic Ocean. The changing landscape provides us with some stunning scenery and breathtaking views. It can be a quite demanding tour as some nights will be spent in a tent and the coastal weather is very changeable. This tour is especially suitable for people who have already done some dog sledding and are experienced outdoor people looking for something special.
| Day 1 | Arrival at Ivalo airport, transfer to your accommodation. |
| Day 2 | We will pick you up from your accommodation and bring you to our kennel. Here you will receive your winter clothing and we will instruct you in the basics how to drive a dog team and then we start our tour. |
| Day 3 | We cross Lake Inari with it's 3300 islands. |
| Day 4 | We pass the village of Sevettijarvi and spent the night at the cabin in Janisjarvi. |
| Day 5 | Today we cross the border into Norway |
| Day 6 | Today we reach the sea at Bugoyfjord. |
| Day 7 | We continue towards the Neidenfjord. |
| Day 8 | Today we load our dogs and equipment into our dog truck and make our way back to Ivalo. However it is possible that we may need this day to catch up in case of delays due to bad weather conditions. |
